- Mesh cage preparation (product supplied non-sterile
a. Take alginate of defect area and pour cast model b. Overfill defect area on the cast model by 15% on the model with wax c. Place dental foil over wax d. Cut white cardboard template (packed with mesh) for desired bone restoration area on model. e. Using the white cardboard as a finished pattern, cut titanium mesh to size f. Sterilize titanium mesh for clinical use inside the cassette or use bag to sterilize preserving the shape of titanium mesh by placing over ridge defect to attain new form. - Surgery:
a. Full thickness flap with buccal vertical incisions releasing bilaterally one tooth beyond surgical site b. Debride and decorticate surgical site with #4 round bur c. Make holes through cortex to the endosteum with a 2.0 mm bur (angiogenesis) d. Using Blood Syringe with large stainless steel orifice, collect 4 mL of blood and mix with 1.5 gram OSTEOGEN® and 2.0 cc OSTEODEMIN™ demineralized bone e. Control profuse bleeding with surgical gauze or hemostatic agent to avoid migration of bone augmentation material f. Secure mesh lingually or buccally with one or two TRISTAR® self-drilling screws g. Place bone putty mixture onto defect site and against titanium to fill defect h. Bend titanium buccally or lingually and secure with two TRISTAR® self-drilling screws i. Underscore periosteal flap to separate tissue from bone and attain primary closure j. Membrane is required if primary closure is not attainable
